Feeding Tubes

​A feeding tube is a means by which you are able to receive nutritional support (food and liquid) into the stomach or intestinal tract while bypassing the mouth and throat. In this practice, feeding tubes are commonly used for a variety of reasons. Some of these are detailed below, although if you have questions or concerns regarding the use of a feeding tube, the SLP staff should be able to answer your specific questions.
